2026 Art Donation to Samaritans of New York City Event
Alex Puryear has been a remarkable and faithful supporter of Samaritans of New York City. Year after year, he has donated extraordinary original artwork that regularly raises between $2,000 and $6,000 at our annual benefit—an enormous contribution for an event whose proceeds help sustain our life-saving mission. Samaritans provides anonymous, completely confidential 24-hour crisis support, bereavement services for those who have lost loved ones to suicide, and education and outreach that helps communities respond with greater care and understanding.
What makes Alex’s generosity even more meaningful is that his work is unforgettable. His surreal imagination, bold use of color, and singular artistic voice make his pieces among the most anticipated and beloved items at the event each year. As our late National Art Director, Lisa Erf, has said, there is no one else in the world like him. We are deeply grateful that Alex continues to show up for such a worthy cause, and all of us at Samaritans are blessed by his talent, his heart, and his enduring generosity.
