Prints — made to order

Prints are not kept in stock. Each print is made to order for you by our print partner, Gelato, and produced close to your delivery address where that is available. That means there is a production step after you order, before your print ships.

Production and delivery times are set by Gelato for the specific product and destination, and they can vary, especially at peak times. Times given for prints are estimates, not guarantees.

Please contact us before ordering if you need a print by a specific date, and we will tell you honestly whether Gelato can meet it.

Delivery cost: $10 flat rate for prints in the United States. Canada & Mexico: $15. International: $25.

You will receive an update when your print ships.

Prints are sold unframed. Sizes and paper are listed on each product page — most matte prints are available in 16" x 20" and 18" x 24".

Original paintings

Originals are larger and are handled individually.

Shipping for originals is quoted per piece for your delivery address before delivery is arranged.

Local delivery or pickup in the Chicago area is available by arrangement — contact us before ordering.

Please contact Puryeargallery@gmail.com or 312-678-4776 before ordering an original if you have a deadline.

Wearable art

Wearable art ordered through the Threadless shop is printed, shipped, and handled under Threadless's shipping terms, which are shown in that shop at checkout.

International shipping

Print delivery is $15 to Canada & Mexico and $25 to the other international destinations we ship to.

Delivery times vary by destination, and any customs duties or import taxes are the buyer's responsibility.

Need it by a date?

Contact us before you order at Puryeargallery@gmail.com and we will tell you honestly whether we can meet it.

Returns, Exchanges & Damaged Orders

We want the work to be right in your space. If something is wrong, contact us first — we will make it right.

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect

For prints: contact Puryeargallery@gmail.com within 30 days of receiving your order, with your order number and a clear photo of the damage, defect, or incorrect item. We will arrange a replacement reprint first; if a reprint cannot resolve the problem, we will refund you.

For originals: contact us within 7 days of delivery with a photo. The remedy for a damaged original is agreed with you case by case, depending on the piece and the damage.

Please keep the packaging until we reply, and do not send anything back until we give you instructions — print-on-demand orders are not returned to a standard returns address.

Change-of-mind returns — prints

Because each print is made to order for you by Gelato, it is not produced from stock that can simply be reshelved, so we do not accept change-of-mind returns on made-to-order prints. If your print arrives damaged, incorrect, or with a quality problem, contact us within 30 days with a photo and we will arrange a replacement or refund as above.

Cancellations are possible only before production starts, while our print partner still allows it — we cannot promise a fixed cancellation window, so contact us immediately if you need to cancel.

Originals, limited editions, and commissions

Original paintings, limited editions, and commissioned work are final sale, except when they arrive damaged or do not match the listing. Please contact us before ordering an original if you would like more photos, measurements, or a video walkthrough of a piece.

How to start a claim

Email Puryeargallery@gmail.com with your order number. Do not send anything back until we reply with instructions — this protects the artwork in transit and makes sure your refund is not delayed.

Refunds

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of approving a claim, or of receiving and inspecting a returned item where a return is required.

Wearable art purchased through Threadless is covered by Threadless's returns policy, shown in that shop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a frame included with a print?

No. Prints are sold unframed, so you can frame them to suit your space. Each product page lists the exact size, which makes standard frames easy to find.

What is the difference between a print and an original?

An original is the one-of-a-kind painting itself, priced individually on its listing. A print is a museum-quality matte reproduction of an artwork, available in the sizes listed on its product page. Check the product title and description — if a listing says "Print," it is a print.

What sizes and paper are the prints?

Most matte prints are available in 16" x 20" and 18" x 24" on heavy matte fine-art paper. The limited edition print "Environment" is 16" x 20". Always check the size options on the product page before ordering.

How long will my order take?

Prints are made to order by our print partner, Gelato, after you order — production time plus delivery time, both set by Gelato for your product and destination, so the total varies and is an estimate rather than a guarantee. Originals are arranged individually. Contact us before ordering if you have a deadline.

How much is shipping?

In the United States, prints ship for a $10 flat rate, so a $50 print is $60 delivered before any tax that may apply. Print delivery is $15 to Canada & Mexico and $25 to the other international destinations we ship to. Original paintings are handled individually — contact us for the delivery arrangement and cost for a specific piece.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Yes — print delivery is $15 to Canada & Mexico and $25 to the other international destinations we ship to. Delivery times vary by destination, and any customs duties or import taxes are the buyer's responsibility.

Can I pick up locally in Chicago?

Prints ship directly from Gelato's production partner to you, so local pickup is not available for prints. For original paintings, local pickup or delivery in the Chicago area is available by arrangement — contact us before ordering.

What if my artwork arrives damaged?

For a print, contact Puryeargallery@gmail.com within 30 days of receiving it, with a clear photo. We will arrange a replacement reprint first, and refund you if a reprint cannot fix the problem. Please keep the packaging until we reply. For an original, contact us within 7 days of delivery with a photo; the remedy is agreed case by case.

Can I return a print if it does not work in my room?

No — prints are made to order for you, so we cannot accept change-of-mind returns. If a print arrives damaged or faulty, contact us within 30 days with a photo and we will make it right with a replacement or refund. Originals and limited editions are final sale except for damage.

Do you take commissions or live painting bookings?

Yes — commissioned art and live art performance bookings are part of Alex's practice, including painting live with musicians. Please give at least 4 weeks' notice for commissions and bookings. Email Puryeargallery@gmail.com or call 312-678-4776 with your date, venue, and what you have in mind.

What payment options do you accept?

Checkout offers major payment options including Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo, and Google Pay, and eligible products show interest-free installment options at checkout. You can check out as a guest — an account is optional.

How do I reach a person?
